The Edmonton Oilers have done the improbable, forcing a decisive Game 7 against the Florida Panthers in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final. In a stunning display of resilience, the Oilers rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win Game 6 by a score of 5-1, joining just two other teams in NHL history to rally from such a deficit in the best-of-seven championship series. The catalyst for Edmonton's victory was a dominant performance by its offense, which erupted for eight goals in the contest. The Oilers' scoring was led by Zach Hyman, who had two goals and an assist, while Connor McDavid added a goal and two assists. The deciding goal came late in the third period, when Warren Foegele found McLeod on the doorstep for a backhanded finish that tied the series at 3-3.
